We wanted to send a sincere THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to our recent winter gear drive. Because of your generosity, we collected a significant amount of warm clothing that will make a real difference for those in our community this season. It’s inspiring to see this team come together to support such a meaningful cause.

Today, we delivered the donations to The Mustard Seed Impact Centre, and they were incredibly grateful for the support! Thanks again for your kindness and for making this initiative a success!

To maintain and expand the digital infrastructure that Calgarians rely on, we depend on donor support. This support allows us to ensure:

• reliable, high-quality public computers across 22 locations;
• updated devices for lending, including Chromebook laptops;
• accessible technology for patrons with disabilities;
• enhanced Wi-Fi capacity as usage grows; and
• printing and scanning that remain affordable and barrier-free

In addition to maintaining essential technology across the system, donor support enables the Library to test and trial emerging tools at tech-forward locations such as Prototype Skyview. These pilots allow us to explore innovations—like a document translation machine that instantly converts physical documents into multiple languages—before introducing them system-wide. Tools like this are especially valuable for newcomers navigating essential services or complex paperwork. Your family’s support would help us meet immediate needs while planning responsibly for the continued growth of the city and the evolving role of the Library as a digital lifeline.
“I went to the Library because I didn’t have a computer at the time and needed one to finish an important project. I worked there for four hours and created a beautiful presentation that earned a great grade. The presentation was due the next day, and I honestly didn’t think I could finish on time, but I did thanks to the resources the Library offered. From that day on, I always went to the Library whenever I had a presentation or an important assignment, because I knew that place was magical and would help me start and finish my work.” - Library patron
